ABOUT GODDESS LAB:

Immerse yourself in a world of pure intuition and unleash the creative force within with this first in a series of workshops led by the Goddes Lab Creative Duo: visual artist Sofia Bachvarova and musical wiz Peter Vitalone


Each 2 hr. event will begin with a guided live sound and scent meditation followed by an interactive discourse on the particular aspect of the Feminine/Masculine, after which participants will be invited to play and create an original artwork choosing from a variety of available mediums.
Each session will explore a specific aspect of the Feminine and Masculine Archetypal Principles rooted in Myth, Shamanism and Jungian Psychology.

This is our End Of the Year GODDESS LAB offering which will honor the tradition of Ritual Shedding and Self-Renewal through a magical shared evening of Art Making.

About this Event:

As the New Year approaches, many of us make “resolutions” intending to improve some aspect of our well-being.
These often become yet another anxiety and guilt trigger, adding to our already bulging bag of “should’s” and “should not’s”.

Why doesn’t this approach work..?

Our intentions are noble but the methodology of how to go about making such changes is lacking honesty. As Einstein had reportedly said; ““We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.”

Shedding old thinking patterns - a key to opening new possibilities for our lives - will be the focus of this December 27/2019 event at G LAB / ART ALCHEMY.

We will begin with our signature guided Sound and Scent Meditation, opening up the emotional body for inquiry into what is no longer needed, so that it can be allowed to surface.

Following we will have light refreshments and a group Q&A regarding our shared experience.

The last and final part of the event is act of letting go through the immersive creation of a personal collage where we will literally and poetically embed and bury what’s no longer needed into the work.

Artist Sofia Bachvarova will demo the process of creating with Encaustic (Beeswax) and will be there to assist during the session; however, the focus of the process will be on the “letting go” aspect rather than perfecting a technique. As you burn, scrape and caress the surface of Your emotional landscape you will watch it become Your Artwork.

Release that which no longer serves you, free your heart and welcome the upcoming year with a sense of wonder and gratitude for All that is Life!!!

*Please be advised that natural insense will be burned as an offering during the opening and the meditation part of the event, if you have intolerance or allergy to natural smoke this event may not be suitable for you.

*Delicious small bites and herbal tea will be offered for your enjoyment.
*BYOB always an option!
*Please wear comfortable clothing, accept that it might get messy, yet be sure to let Your Inner Goddess/God Shine regardless!
*An artwork embodying "The Shedding of What's No Longer Needed" will be created by each participant.

*Most art materials needed for the final art project will be provided, however, for this special workshop **Please bring small personal mementos if you wish to include into your artwork**

Lesson 2/level 2- 3D Sacred Geometry- Platonic solids and the Illusion of Perspective
Lesson 3/level 3- Da’Vinci’s Vitruvian Man: The Human Body according to Sacred Geometry Principles/ Golden Ratio / Fibonacci Progression

SECTION 2 PAINTING:
Lesson 1/level 4- The Alchemy of Color / Perception of Color Relationships : Students will learn to distinguish Values from Colorshapes
Lesson 2/level 5- The Secrets of a Rainbow / Color as Visual Manifestation of Light Energy /Musical Scale and the Visible Spectrum
Lesson 3/level 6- The Alchemy of Color Mixing / Students will learn how to mix ANY color and match color values from a restricted color palette.
